You need a student visa in order to study in Latvia. Carefully follow the Latvia Student Visa Requirements step-by-step and submit the necessary paperwork; a single error could result in the denial of your visa.

Step 1: Students must provide original documentation (Apostille).

  • Application for ESL Form
  • The passport
  • White background photo (35/45 size)
  • All educational records, including the marksheet and certificates for grades X, XII/PUC, and Bachelor (translated into English)
  • Acceptance of the provisional certificate is denied
  • A grade of at least 50% is required.
  • Any English proficiency certificate, such as the Medium of Instruction certificate, TOFEL, or IELTS

Step 2: The applicant will receive a Conditional Acceptance Letter and Invoice for paying the Application fee

  • Payment will be made directly to the University’s Account
  • Application fee – around 180 -300 Euro -Depends on course and university
  • Non-refundable

Step 3: The candidate will have to take online tests or a Skype interview

  • There are universities that don't require admission tests.
  • When taking online assessments, ESL will support pupils who lack confidence. Skype interview training will be provided by ESL.

Step 4: The Academic Information Center (AIC) will receive the Educational Documents so the institution can verify them.

  • Minimum two weeks, maximum four weeks is the duration.
  • Some colleges don't require the AIC.

Step 5: The university will give the following after getting the AIC statement:

  • Final letter of admission
  • Study Agreement
  • Tuition invoice: around 2000–3400 euros, depending on the subject and university
  • Security deposit invoice: 500–700 euros, depending on the course and university
  • If a visa is denied, the tuition and security payments are refundable.
